{"id":3644,"date":"2020-11-02T10:21:06","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T09:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rensep.org\/comment\/methodological-outline\/"},"modified":"2023-03-06T12:27:39","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T11:27:39","slug":"methodological-outline","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rensep.org\/fr\/comment\/methodological-outline\/","title":{"rendered":"METHODOLOGICAL OUTLINE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]RENSEP defines esoteric practices as being human activities aimed at bringing about and using a supposed hidden causality, force or entity, and whose effects should manifest themselves in the experience of the operator or in the outside world.<\/p>\n<p>We distinguish various elements which fall under the scope of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rensep.org\/about\/occult_practice\/\">esoteric practices<\/a>\u201d, which allow us to better apprehend the whys and wherefores:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The intellectual, philosophical or religious framework of the practice: theories and beliefs which describe the hidden causalities and realities;<\/li>\n<li>The prerequisites that qualify a practitioner for the execution of the practice (often mentioned in the texts themselves);<\/li>\n<li>The detailed execution of the practice (as described in the texts or taught orally);<\/li>\n<li>The experience lived by the practitioner or as observed from the outside;<\/li>\n<li>The anticipated result in the real world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Defined in this way, esoteric practice can be considered to be a meta-category which covers elements of magic, sorcery, mysticism, spirituality, shamanism and \u201cparanormal\u201d powers.<br \/>\nIt encompasses all of the practices which have the common denominator of using hidden causalities to obtain a result of some sort.<\/p>\n<p>As such, \u201cesoteric practice\u201d may constitute a sufficiently complex object of study to be used as a vector for a new interdisciplinary methodology.
